Maltese Lion Climb Kilimanjaro

Maltese Lion Climb Kilimanjaro

At the age of 50 Giovanni (aka. John) Camilleri became the first Maltese Lion to climb Kilimanjaro, the highest free standing mountain in Africa. He reached Uhuru peak on the 18th October 2010 at 6.57 am making him the first out of 11 Maltese to reach the summit on that day. Mr. Camilleri is seen in the photo holding the Lions Club Sliema Banner as a sign of gratitude for the donation made by the club towards the clinic in the village of Karro in Ethiopia.
